The Collection
Galerie Taisei has been collecting the art works, relevant photographs, and documents of Le Corbusier since 1990.
The core of our assemblage consists of drawings and papier collee of Theodor Ahrenberg collection, who was an acquaintance of Le Corbusier.
Ahrenberg commissioned the architect for a museum to house the works of Picasso, Matisse, and Le Corbusier himself, but never realized due to lack of government approval. Our virtual gallery and its exhibitions, inspired by the plans of Palais Ahrenberg, manifests the desires of the late Ahrenberg and Le Corbusier.
The Ahrenberg Collection of Le Corbusier works was the first acquisition that initiated this institution. We examine the architect history, works, and methods through our collection of Galerie Taisei.
